Memorial Day

For Memorial Day, Preston and I joined his parents and nephew at Sand Hollow Golf Course for what turned out to be a beautiful evening.  We putted and chipped around for a couple of hours, breathing in the smells and making friends with jack rabbits as we went, and then later joined more family for ice cream and memorable conversation.  Though not a patriotic celebration, the time together nevertheless filled me with gratitude for those who have sacrificed that I may enjoy just such a night, free of fear or suppression.

If any of you are in the Southern Utah area, this putt and chip provides a marvelous place for activity without the dent the pocket a regular round of golf would leave.  Few sights are as inspiring as a manicured, lush golf course in the midst of a wild and textured desert.
